Meet Matthew

Leadership Is a
Contact Sport

Matthew Abrams has spent 15 years helping leaders stop avoiding the conversations that matter and start using tension as a path to breakthrough.

The Story

Built from the
Middle of the Fire

Matthew Abrams didn't arrive at conflict work from the outside. He came through it as a leader, a founder, and someone who learned firsthand what happens when teams stop telling the truth to each other.

Over the past 15 years, Matthew has worked with founders, CEOs, and leadership teams at more than 200 companies, helping them build the relational infrastructure that high performance actually requires. His work draws on EOS, executive coaching, organizational psychology, and a deep belief that healthy conflict (not harmony) is what creates lasting results.

He is a credentialed Expert EOS Implementer, having led over 600 sessions with more than 80 companies. He is also the author of Inviting Genius: How Good Leaders Use Conflict to Become Great, and has delivered two TEDx talks on leadership and authentic connection.

His work has been featured in Forbes, Fast Company, and the Stanford Social Innovation Review.

Philosophy

What Matthew Believes

Everything Matthew does flows from a few core convictions about people, leadership, and what it takes to build something that lasts.

01

Conflict Is Information

Tension between people isn't a sign that something is broken. It's a signal that something important is happening. The leaders who learn to read it gain access to intelligence that others never see.

02

Courage Is a Skill

The ability to say the hard thing, hold a boundary, or stay present when it's uncomfortable: these aren't personality traits. They're learnable. Matthew's entire methodology is built around making courage repeatable.

03

Teams Are the Leverage Point

An individual leader can accomplish a lot. A healthy leadership team is a multiplier. The organizations that win in the long run are the ones that invest in how their people work together, not just what they produce.
